If you are planning to expand overseas or require a visa to move your business abroad, you may need notarised copies of your practicing certificates or other higher level qualifications, including degree certificates.
Processing your certificate
In order to check the authenticity of your certificate, we will need to contact the relevant university or higher education department to confirm that they are the issuing organisation.
The duration of this process may vary depending on the verification process adopted by each separate institution. If your certificate was issued by an institution which has signed to the Higher Education Degree Datacheck, the authenticity of your documents may be confirmed within minutes, however other institutions may take a few weeks to conduct necessary checks.
You may also have to sign a consent letter to allow us to contact your institution on your behalf as certain schools, colleges and universities have data protection policies in place in accordance with the Data Protection Act.
Document certification
As soon as we receive confirmation from the relevant institution, we will be able to produce a notarised copy of your certificate. If you require, we will also be able to notarise the original certificate, however you may need to order a new certificate from your issuing institution for your records.
If you plan to use our notary services for visa and immigration purposes, you may require further legalisation to prepare your documents for official use. We will be able to assist you in obtaining an apostille from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office to confirm that the signature, stamp or seal provided is from a UK public official.
